A Beechcraft T-34 Mentor occurs as military trainer aircraft derived from the Beechcraft Bonanza. A signature V-tail of the Bonanza was replaced with conventional rear airfoil. the 4-passenger cabin was replaced using a 2-roadster tandem cockpit & bubble canopy. the T-34A & T-34B utilized a conventional, piston driven engine while the T-34C Turbo Mentor is turboprop-powered. A T-34C is however utilized when a primary step by step instruction aircraft for United States Navy and Marine Corps pilots.
A Wise man is the aircraft utilized per Lima Lima Flight Team.
Within 2004, due to a series of crashes involving around-flight structural failure in the period of simulated combat flights, the entire U.S. fleet of T-34s was grounded per Federal Aviation Administration. the grounding has since been eased to a series of restrictions in permitted flight envelope.
